Doctor Charles Garramone M.D. is a plastic surgeon in Florida that specializes in female to male (FTM) top surgery and body sculpting. Dr. Garramone has been featured in the "Guide to America's Top Plastic Surgeons, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 Editions" and has received the coveted "Patient's Choice Award for 2008, 2009, and 2010".
He is also a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Garramone completed his fellowship training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He trained at several prestigious medical centers around the New York and Philadelphia areas.
To meet the WPATH standards of care, Dr. Garramone requires one letter from a therapist, psychologist, physician or psychiatrist. The letter should state that top surgery is the right treatment for you and that you are mentally ready.
Dr. Garramone does not require for you to take testosterone before top surgery.
You must be over 18 years of age. If you are older than 35 you will need a mammogram prior to surgery.
Dr. Garramone requires for you to be medically cleared by your primary care physician. Please notify the doctor if you have any medical concerns.
How Much Does Dr. Garramone Cost?:
As of 2012, Dr. Garramone charges $5,900 USD for FTM top surgery using the double incision method. For the "Keyhole" or "Peri-areolar" method, the cost is $6,500 USD. Dr. Garramone also does ManSculpture Body Masculinization (liposuction of abdomen, love handles, and outside hips) for $2,000 to $4,500.
The above price does not include preop labs, prescription medications, mammograms, and postoperative compression garments.
Please note that for most patients the average surgery time is 90 to 100 minutes. In the rare situation that the surgical procedure takes longer than 120 minutes to perform, the Hospital will charge the patient an additional $200 for each additional 30 minutes.
The total cost of surgery needs to be paid for at least 3 weeks prior to your appointment date. It can be paid by credit or debit card, cash, medical loan or bank certified check. Dr. Garramone's clinic does not accept personal checks or insurance.
There is a $500 deposit to schedule a date for top surgery.

Length of Stay:
You can expect to stay in the area for 6 to 8 days. This gives you time to see Dr. Garramone before surgery and time for a post operative checkup.
Top surgery commonly can leave scarring on your chest. You can take precautions to prevent scars. You need to follow general surgical aftercare.
